Python Installation

Follow these steps to install Python using the uv package manager.

Install VSCode or VSCodium. Promptly disable any AI/LLM/Copilot tools in the VSCode editor. Do not use AI tools in this course, ever.

I Want To Use Some Other Editor or Python Package Manager

That’s fine. We won’t help you with editor issues, however. Strictly avoid any editors that have AI features (or disable any AI features).

My Computer Is Neither Windows Nor Mac

If you have a Chromebook or iPad, these will not work for this course. You will need a full-fledged laptop (or desktop) computer. If procuring one is difficult for you, please speak with the professor..
If you are running Linux, install uv or any other Python distribution of your preference.
If you are running TempleOS, please speak with the professor.
