Systems Hacking Club

SHC is a group focused around undergraduates interested in understanding how systems tick. We work on systems-focused projects, and meeting and talk about the inner workings of complex systems. A small sample of the topics we’ve discussed in the past:

• The Dalvik VM underlying Android.
• Garbage collection theory and implementation.
• Networking internals.
• System structures (microkernels, unikernels, virtual machines, …).
• How to read and write systems code.

You can find a lot of high-level information about systems stuff around the web, but there is no replacement for a bunch of people working together to figure out how the world works.
