Biography
Dr. Shen is a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at The George Washington University. He received a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a M.S. in management sciences from National Chiao-Tung University in Taiwan, and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Shen received the National Science Foundation's CAREER Award and Research Initiation Award, and the research projects are automated dimensional measurement and metrology in manufacturing research and education. He also conducts collaborative research with researchers in the National Institute of Standards and Technology. His research interests are in metrology, precision engineering, and computer-integrated design and manufacturing. Dr. Shen is a certified manufacturing engineer, and is a member of the following honorary societies and professional societies: Pi Tau Sigma, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society for Precision Engineering, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
