Useful stuff

• DrawTool.java. This is a simple drawing program that we will use occasionally to draw figures or plot graphs.

• IOTool.java. This program will help us capture input from a user or will help us read from files.

• WordTool.java with one or more of:
  • words.txt: the list of about 25,000 words (one word per line, lowercase) that comes with any Unix distribution.
  • wordsWithPOSAndPron.txt: This is a list of about 23,000 words with both part-of-speech categorization and pronciation (phoneme breakdown). All of these are in the Unix list.
  • wordsWithPOSAndPronLarge.txt: This is a larger list that combines the CMU pronunciation list and a simplified version of the parts-of-speech labels from the Moby project. About 44,000 words.
  • scrabblewords.txt. A complete list of all words accepted in word games like Scrabble. This is sometimes convenient because it has plurals and conjugations.
