Aneurysm Clip Design Project

Aneurysm clips and appliers designed and built by Roger E. Kaufman

In a joint project with the George Washington University's Department of Neurosurgery, I developed a series of new types of aneurysm clips and appliers. These offered certain advantages over the instruments currently available. Some of the early prototypes for these devices are shown here. (The bottom pictures show frames from a computer simulation of one of the proposed new non-metallic clips in use.)
