INFOCOM 2008 - TPC Meeting

General Information

The TPC meeting for INFOCOM 2008 will be held on Saturday, October 27th at The George Washington University, in historic downtown Washington, D.C. The meeting location is 1957 E St., which is situated a few blocks from places such as the White House, National Mall, and Capitol Hill. The schedule for the day is as follows:

Please indicate via EDAS your decision to attend the meeting and the dinner. All TPC members are invited to the TPC meeting. In order to put together a high quality program, it is important to have you participate in this meeting. Wireless Internet access will also be provided to each attendee bringing their own wireless-enabled computer. Other equipment and services (e.g., projectors and printing) will be made available as needed.

Lodging

A number of hotels are located within walking distance of the TPC meeting location. Nightly rates typically vary between $150 and $200 per night because of the locations of the hotels. Examples of these hotels that are within 1 mile of the TPC meeting location appear below. Other hotels further away from the TPC meeting location may be cheaper, and still be relatively convenient to get to/from via the Metro.

Please be advised that hotel rooms should be booked as soon as possible as they tend to fill up early.

Transportation

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) provides rapid transit (Metrorail, "the Metro") for Washington, D.C. and surround areas. The metro station in downtown Washington D.C. that is closest to the TPC meeting is the FOGGY BOTTOM-GWU metro station. Click here for a map showing the relative location of the metro station. The most convenient airport serving downtown Washington, D.C. is Reagan National Airport (DCA). Either subway or taxi will provide cheap and fast transportation from this airport to the hotels mentioned above. Other airports that are slightly further away, but still accessible by rail train and/or bus are Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI).

Dinner

Dinner will be held on the day of the meeting at Bombay Palace at 7:30 PM. It is located at 2020 K St., and a map showing its location can be found here.
